ThinGap Custom Motor Design
Whether you need a new motor design or modifications to a standard motor, our team of motor specialists will create a solution that meets your application requirements. Our engineering team’s toolbox includes the leading CAD and motor simulation software, as well as a fully instrumented test lab. With our full range of engineering design and application services, we have created high quality special purpose products for a wide range of applications.
Chances are, we have already built a motor that meets your requirements. If not, our engineering team is available to develop your solution with the exact combination of speed, horsepower, torque and efficiency required without cogging or hysteresis torque.
- New product design engineering services
- Newly developed BLDC motor and part set designs for a wide range of efficiencies, speed, torque and horsepower
- Modular manufacturing process allows easy, quick and reliable modifications to standard products
We specialize in the development and production of:
- Brushless Permanent Magnet Motors
- Generators
Our motor engineering department applies its suite of development tools to accurately determine and simulate the operating performance of all components, as well as the complete system, before any hardware is built. We use a variety of commercial software packages including:
- SolidWorks for solid modeling and mechanical simulation
- JMAG for electromechanical and electromagnetic simulation
- MATLAB for numerical analysis and optimization
- LabView for testing and control
Once a design is finalized, individual components are fabricated and/or procured to exacting specifications and assembled in our prototype build department.
This department is outfitted with a variety of sophisticated equipment to support the build process including experimental winding, magnet magnetization, rotor balancing, magnet retention and press and shrink fit assembly.
